Wedge Fitting

Bounce and grind matter more here than in any other category, and both depend on the turf you actually play. We start by asking what your home course conditions look like, not just what's on the demo wall.

Bounce & Turf

The Right Sole for Your Actual Course

A low-bounce wedge that's perfect on firm, tight Nebraska fairways can dig on a softer, well-watered green complex. We talk through your regular course conditions before recommending a grind, then confirm the choice on the bench's turf-response mat.

Loft spacing across the wedge set gets checked against your pitching wedge so there's no overlapping distance and no unplayable gap between clubs.

What Actually Moves in a Wedge Fitting

Bounce Angle

Higher bounce resists digging on softer turf; lower bounce suits firmer conditions and a steeper angle of attack.

Sole Grind

Heel, toe, and camber relief change how the club interacts with the ground on open-face shots.

Loft Spacing

Set relative to your pitching wedge so distance gaps stay consistent from full swings down to partial shots.

Spin Consistency

Groove condition and face milling both factor into how much spin actually transfers on partial shots off the return net.

Shaft Weight

Heavier wedge shafts can add feel and control on delicate shots at the cost of a little clubhead speed.

Finish & Feel

Raw, chrome, or black oxide finishes wear differently and change how the face reads spin over time.

Get Bounce and Grind Right the First Time

Appointments run 45–60 minutes and cover full swings plus partial shots. You leave with a printed spec card either way.
